What 40's movie is your favorite?

Best 40's Movies from Movie Fone

Here are my top 5:
1. the shop around the corner (1940)
Starring: Jimmy Stewart and Margaret Sullavan.... This is the Movie that "you've got mail" is based on.. You should see it! I LOVE IT!!

2. meet me in st. louis (1944)
Starring: Judy Garland and Margaret O'Brien.... This movie was shown in the recent movie "The Family Stone" one of the sisters watches the movie (the scenes where Judy Garland sings "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" to Margaret O'Brien).

3. its a wonderful life (1946)
Starring: Jimmy Stewart.. It is known as quite possibly the #1- feel good movie of all time! However I like to change the quote "Every time a bell rings, an angel gets its wings" to "Every time a bell rings, a woman gets new shoes"

4. bambi (1942)
A couple notes: This was Walt Disney's favorite film, In June 2008, this movie was ranked #3 on the American Film Institute's list of the 10 greatest films in the genre "Animation".

5. fantasia (1940)
A couple notes: The Sorcerer (in "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" segment) was nicknamed Yen Sid by the artists, which is "Disney" spelled backwards. In June 2008, this movie was ranked #5 on the American Film Institute's list of the 10 greatest films in the genre "Animation". This is the only Disney animated feature film that reaches the two hour mark.
